Professor Rasmussen primary research focuses to improve the quality of care and self-management in people with diabetes and complex conditions.

She has published extensively in the field with the specific focus on how individuals manage life transitions and understanding the psychological and social contexts in health care.

Professor Currey leads a research program focused on quality and safety, governance, and the educational preparation of the healthcare workforce. Judy improves patient and client healthcare experiences by educating clinicians in evidence-based healthcare communication practices.

 Meet our advisory committee members

  • Vibeke is a head of the research department of Women’s and Children’s Health, JMC, at Copenhagen University Hospital, Rigshospitalet, Denmark.

    Through her grounded theory studies in difficult diabetes care, Vibeke has explained barriers to empowerment in patient-provider relationships. Based on the theories and participatory research she and her team developed an empowerment-based decision-making and problem-solving method, Guided Self-Determination which is able to overcome the barriers and effective in the care of people with long-term conditions.

  • After completing a PhD in Theoretical Chemistry at Oxford Olga worked with Deloitte for several years becoming a chartered accountant (now Fellow), while gaining direct experience across many established businesses and start-ups.

    Since then Olga has worked in investor relations for a FTSE100 company; managed multiple companies as a CFO / investment manager in a private equity firm in Australia; co-founded a predictive weather analytics start-up; and facilitated university research investment opportunities.

    Currently Olga works as an independent adviser in the investment and innovation space and mentoring start-up founders. When developing individuals and teams Olga draws on many years of corporate experience and applying the GSD principles in addition to other frameworks.
